BLACKPINK‘s jisoo has become the first korean female solo artist to achieve a first-week million-seller, according to her agency yg entertainment on april 4th!

jisoo’s first solo album, “me,” released on march 31st, sold over 1.02 million copies, based on the hanteo chart. this is the highest first-week sales figure for any korean female solo artist.

in just four days, jisoo’s album surpassed the 1 million mark, after selling 870,000 copies on its first day of release. the final first-week sales figure is expected to increase even further. with this achievement, jisoo has become the first k-pop female solo artist to have both group and solo million-seller albums.

the album’s lead track, “flower,” also performed well on music charts, topping the itunes top songs charts in 63 countries, including the us, and reaching the top of the worldwide chart. on the world’s largest music streaming platform, spotify, the song entered at 6th place, the highest ranking for any k-pop female solo artist, and is also maintaining a high position on domestic music charts.
