YG Entertainment has addressed the recent viral report of BLACKPINK not renewing contracts individually but only for group activities!
BLACKPINK has been caught up in rumors about the renewal of their group contract, with all four members reportedly reaching an agreement to continue their group activities with YG. Two members have reportedly already signed a contract stating their intention to continue with BLACKPINK, and the remaining two are also expected to sign. This does not mean the members are remaining with YG for individual contracts.
However, YG Entertainment maintains its position that “nothing has been confirmed. We are still in discussions” and continues to negotiate with the members. A representative from YG Entertainment stated on the 20th that “the group’s contract has not been confirmed” and that they are currently in discussions.
YG Entertainment is taking a cautious approach regarding BLACKPINK’s contract renewal. In their quarterly report released on the 14th, they stated, “As of the disclosure date, the exclusive contract with BLACKPINK is under negotiation for renewal, and the final result will be announced through the disclosure of significant management matters related to investment decisions.”
