BLACKPINK Lisa has surpassed 90 million followers on Instagram, becoming the first k-pop artist to do so.
On March 13, Lisa’s official Instagram exceeded 90 million followers. In particular, Lisa reaffirmed her reputation as an “Instagram Queen” by surpassing 90 million Instagram followers in the shortest time in Asia.
This is the first record set in about 4 years and 8 months since she opened her account in 2018. The previous shortest record for Asians to reach 90 million followers on Instagram was by Virat Kohli’s official Instagram (5 years and 6 months).
Asian stars who have a higher follower count than Lisa include India’s national cricket team player Virat Kohli (about 240 million) and Israeli actor Gal Gadot (about 97.9 million), known for her title role in “Wonder Woman.” Virat, Gal, and Lisa are the only Asians with more than 90 million Instagram followers.
In addition, Lisa’s record of more than 90 million followers is the No. 1 overall among K-pop artists and domestic celebrities.
Particularly noteworthy is that according to Guinness World Records Lisa set a world record for “K-pop artists with most following on Instagram.”
And in worldwide, she ranks 38th among celebrities with the most followers on Instagram.
In addition, according to marketing analysis company HypeAuditor, BLACKPINK Lisa ranked second on the Instagram top music influencer chart. Lisa was on par with Beyonce and Miley Cyrus on the Top Instagram music influencer chart. Lisa also ranked eighth on the Top 1000 Instagram influencer chart. The chart included Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylie Jenner, Beyonce, and Neymar.
