BIGBANG’s Daesung, who has been quiet, joins “Living King” as a judge after 12 years!

BIGBANG’s Daesung is joining as a special national producer for the popular show “Living King.” After 12 years, he will make his fixed appearance on a variety show and will showcase his talents as a judge for the first trot competition.

“Living King,” scheduled to air in the second half of 2023 on MBN, is a survival music entertainment show that will select the top 7 “top-level active female trot singers” in Korea who will participate in the “Korea-Japan Trot King Competition” in 2024, creating a trot sensation nationwide.

“Crea Studio,” the production company behind shows like “Mister Trot” and “Burning Trotman,” which ignited the trot trend throughout Korea, has joined forces once again with Director Jeon Su-kyung, the main producer of “Mister Trot,” and Shin Dong-yeop has taken on the role of hosting a trot music entertainment show for the first time.

Daesung has pursued solo activities in various genres such as rock, ballad, and trot with songs like “Smile,” “Look at Me, Gwisun,” “It’s a Big Hit!,” and “Cotton Candy.”

Daesung expressed his thoughts, saying, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to have a great experience with great teachers and senior artists. I am greatly concerned about how I can contribute and help in various ways. I will approach this with the mindset of wanting to help as many people as possible.”

The production team stated, “With Daesung, who possesses more expertise and sincerity in music than anyone else, joining, we believe that the trust in ‘Active King’ will also increase,” and added, “Starting with Daesung, the special national producers for ‘Living King’ will show their prowess that matches the scale of the show. We ask for your high expectations for the upcoming lineup for ‘Living King.'”

Meanwhile, “Active King” will air in the second half of 2023.
