The Army has addressed the allegations that they provided special treatment to BTS members J-Hope and Jin during their military enlistment process, which occurred recently.

On the 21st, a media outlet reported that on the 18th, when J-Hope arrived at the enlistment site with all the members of BTS and HYBE officials, several vehicles entered the guard post, raising suspicions of preferential treatment.

Similar situations were reported during member Jin’s enlistment, with reports stating that despite a restriction of “one vehicle per soldier,” multiple vehicles were used.

Other soldiers presented their enlistment notices at the guard post and received entry permits, but J-Hope allegedly received his entry permit in advance through his agency, causing allegations of a violation of fairness.

The army said, “Normally, only one military vehicle is allowed to enter and exit the base for safety control purposes. However, in unavoidable situations, several vehicles may be allowed to enter and exit.” They also stated that “there has been no case where additional vehicles were turned away considering the meaning of the event and the families’ hearts,” and that there are no restrictions on entry and exit.

Earlier, J-Hope enlisted on the 18th. J-Hope entered the training center without any formal greetings and rode in a black minivan. It was reported that BTS members rode in the same vehicle.

HYBE has also issued an initial statement saying they’re looking into the reports.
