Former member of the group T-ara, Ahreum (29), has responded to rumors that her new husband committed sexual assault. She plans to take legal action against the suspicions that her current partner may have a criminal past.
On online communities, a post titled ‘The second Jeon Cheongjo, a former member of a girl group getting remarried’ was also uploaded. The author expressed concern, saying, “I am worried that the second Jeon Cheongjo incident will be exposed. A girl group member is in the process of divorce, but I was shocked to see an article announcing her remarriage with her boyfriend. A introduced themselves as a writer, but they were recently released from prison. I know them as having a criminal record for fraud and sexual offenses. They also have a history of assault, defamation, and more.”
The author claimed to be one of the many victims and said, “A has a history of divorce and I know that they physically abused their ex-wife during the process. After that, they deceived and extorted money from several women, taking pictures when they were doing well, and resorting to violence when they thought their lies would be exposed. They always used the same method of claiming to be the victim when the police arrived. They are an epitome of the Replicant Syndrome, and they were released from prison two months ago and are engaging in fraudulent activities again.” This post spread through social media, and former girl group member Ahreum was identified as the person mentioned.
On the 13th of December, Ahreum wrote on Instagram, “I have nothing more to say. After writing this post, I am looking for the person who spread false information. I will strictly punish all other articles, portal sites, YouTube comments, and malicious comments. If the world values what cannot be seen more, how great would it be? If people understood the hidden pain and tears behind the unspoken truth, there would be no malicious comments.”
She added, “While wanting my own pain and wounds to heal, it seems that I easily hurt others. Seeing the person I love in pain has made me even stronger. I have learned to ignore and find lessons from the malicious comments I have received since I was young, but I cannot tolerate anyone who hurts my loved ones. He is warmer and more caring for me than anyone else. He takes care of me even if it means sacrificing himself. (The suspicions about the second Jeon Cheongjo) are baseless rumors, and I don’t care at all because I know this person.”
Ahreum stated, “I believe that those who posted manipulated facts did so deliberately. I will no longer pay attention to those who post words that hurt the person I love while being deceived by false information. I will take legal action.” She continued, “I want to ask why they live like that. I hope they focus on their own lives. Whether it is true or not, the past is not important, but please don’t be deceived. Even if it costs gossip and entertainment, please keep it quiet. I don’t care about those who believe only what they want to believe and feel disappointed about the manipulation. I just want the posts to be taken down.”
Ahreum joined T-ara in July 2012 but left in July of the following year. She married non-celebrity Kim Younggeol (31) in 2019 and gave birth to their first son the following year. Last year, she appeared on the TVing variety show ‘Between Marriage and Divorce’ contemplating divorce, but she gave birth to her second son in the same year.
On the 10th, she announced on Instagram that she was in the process of divorcing Kim and planning to remarry A. She stated, “I will register the marriage as soon as the lawsuit is over” and revealed, “We have promised to get married.”
