Comedian Park Na Rae explained that she received a special tax investigation from the National Tax Service and was imposed with a fine.
On the 26th of December, Park Na Rae’s agency told Ilgan Sports, “The reported tax-related matter was simply an additional tax payment due to differences in interpretation of tax laws during coordination between the tax authorities and tax accountants,” and emphasized, “It has nothing to do with malicious tax evasion.”
The agency further stated, ” Park Na Rae has diligently taken care of tax-related issues and fulfilled her tax obligations according to the law of the tax authorities. several years, Park Na Rae has faithfully paid her taxes and there have been no unfortunate incidents related to this, and the additional tax arising from differences in opinions has been paid in full.”
On the same day, one media outlet reported that Park Na Rae underwent a tax investigation by the National Tax Service at the end of last year and was imposed with tens of millions of won in fines. The report also mentioned that this investigation was classified as an irregular (special) tax investigation, not a regular tax investigation.
The National Tax Service has been conducting extensive tax investigations on high-income individuals such as entertainers and famous YouTubers since the end of last year to the beginning of this year.
