Having realized how much her untimely death has affected those around her, our heroine resolves to spend some quality time with her younger sister, though said sister doesn’t recognize her. At least not yet. Also, the love triangle we are getting is quite different from the one we expected. Perhaps we are getting another drama of our leading lady being rivals in love with herself.

Seeing how sad Seo-ha is after visiting Joo-won’s grave, Ji-eum takes him to enjoy the beautiful sight of falling petals to make him feel better. Whenever Seo-ha feels he can’t take it anymore, he should look at some petals. This way he will feel his worries melting. On their way back, they come across a truck passing by. Which gets Seo-ha into another panic attack. But he isn’t alone this time. He has Ji-eum by his side to help him breathe and relax.

At home, Ji-eum broods over how devastated her beloved ones felt after she died. All this time, she focused on the pain she kept experiencing because of retaining memories from her various lives. But now she realizes that people around her felt heartbroken and lived in agony after she died.

During her time as Ae-kyung’s uncle, Joong-ho, Ji-eum suffered from a terminal illness. Hence, she died, leaving 10-year-old Ae-kyung alone. Despite promising to return to her again after getting reborn, her 18th life was cut short by that tragic accident, making her break that promise. Now that they are back in each other’s lives, Ji-eum is grateful that Ae-kyung grew up well. From now on, Ji-eum will stay by her side no matter what.

It is Joo-won’s death anniversary. Which means it is also Seo-ha’s birthday. Something that has slipped off Ji-eum’s mind until Ae-kyung reminds her of it. Ji-eum rushes over to Seo-ha’s house despite the heavy rain. She is there to make it a memorable day and, once again, confess her feelings to him.

Back in their childhood days, Joo-won promised to give Seo-ha an answer to his confession on his next birthday. Yet the accident took place, stopping her from keeping her word. This time, instead of waiting, she makes sure to tell Seo-ha her reply .

Another one dropping by with a cake that took her four hours to make is Cho-won. The sisters run into each other, and Ji-eum is taken aback at the possibility that she might have to compete with her younger sister over Seo-ha’s heart. No need to worry, though. Seo-ha doesn’t have the slightest interest in Cho-won. He inconsiderately sends her off with the cake without even blowing out the candles.

The next day, the two sisters run into each other again at Seo-ha’s office. Cho-won is excited that her proposal has been selected. And now, her company is in charge of the hotel’s landscape planning. But the situation turns out sour after Seo-ha arrives. You see, Cho-won submitted her proposal under an alias, and not until Seo-ha saw her in the office did he figure out the truth. And his reaction was worse than she expected.

Seeing how hurt Cho-won is, Ji-eum suggests they have dinner together. She is aware of the risk she is taking by getting closer to Cho-won. Still, Ji-eum can’t bring herself to keep her distance from Cho-won. The central topic they discuss is Cho-won’s love interest, whom she fell in love with at first sight. Which gets Ji-eum on a trip down memory lane. How on earth could Cho-won have fallen for Seo-ha without her noticing it?

But when Cho-won mentions how the one she loves looks after his younger brother, meticulously records things in the housekeeping book, and is a skilled driver, Ji-eum figures out it isn’t Seo-ha like we were fooled into believing but Do-yoon. Wow. I was just thinking how good it would be to have Cho-won and Do-yoon paired off together instead of a repetitive love triangle going nowhere, and luckily I got my wish fulfilled.

Though Cho-won isn’t romantically interested in Seo-ha, she warns Ji-eum of her powerful rival that can’t be beaten easily. Ironically, it is herself or, more accurately, her 18th life self. With Cho-won completely wasted, Ji-eum has to take her home. But she hides away before their mother opens the door and spots her lest she runs into her mother’s arms and spills the beans on being Joo-won. It is enough, for now, to know her mother is doing fine.

However, it is too late, as Ji-eum’s mother has already seen her. Surprisingly, she already recognizes Ji-eum as Joo-won, having recalled Joo-won’s promise to return to her again. Except, it is all in Ji-eum’s imagination. And guess who catches her drunk dancing and calling for her mother? Yeah, it is Seo-ha who calls her Joo-won. I think this is a fake-out. Perhaps he means to ask what Ji-eum is doing in front of Joo-won’s house; or something like that.

We also get some snippets about how Do-yoon met both Seo-ha and Cho-won in the first place. You know, a romcom isn’t complete without childhood connections that our characters might or might not remember. Do-yoon’s parents’ funeral and Joo-won’s took place in the same funeral home. Thus, a still-hospitalized-and-sustaining-many-injuries Seo-ha ran into Do-yoon there for the first time.

After a few years, Seo-ha and Do-yoon meet again as high school colleagues. A girl-in-a-middle-school-uniform, Cho-won, continues waiting Seo-ha in front of his school to check on him. Yet Seo-ha has no plan to meet her. Instead, he asks Do-yoon to hand over an umbrella to Cho-won as it seems it might rain that day. After some bickering, Do-yoon agrees to follow through. And that is how our future secondary couple met for the first time and fell for each other. Can’t this ship sail already?
