Xiumin and Chuu So-jung (WJSN EXY) have been chosen as the main actors for the first drama of the new year from Y What Media, alongside Lee Se Eon and Lee Soo Min.
On the 29th of January, Y What Media officially announced through its official channel that the production of the new drama ‘Restaurant Heo’ has been confirmed, and Xiumin, WJSN’s EXY, Lee Se Eon and Lee Soo Min have been cast as the leads.
‘Restaurant Heo’ is a romantic comedy fantasy drama based on a web novel (by author Jeon Seon-young) that tells the story of the controversial figure Heo Gyun from the Joseon Dynasty accidentally coming to the modern era 400 years later and opening a restaurant.
Xiumin (EXO) plays the role of Heo Gyun, a self-proclaimed genius with extraordinary writing skills and aesthetic sense. The story follows his unique situation of fleeing from his place of exile after hearing that his friends were framed for treason, encountering a gangster, and suddenly finding himself in the jurisdiction of Yuldoguk.
WJSN’s EXY portrays Eun-sil, the daughter of a small, unnamed restaurant. Her character is known for being unable to tolerate injustice and expressing K-style straightforwardness. Her interactions with Heo Gyun, who appears in front of the restaurant one day with the appearance of a homeless wanderer, are expected to bring a new level of fun through their unique chemistry.
In addition, Lee Se Eon takes on the role of the goal-oriented character Lee Il-cheom, who stops at nothing to achieve his objectives. Lee Soo-min appears as the talented singer Maetchang, known for her beautiful appearance and excellent musical talent, as well as portraying the secret CF star Jung Mi-sol with a mysterious charm.
The production team of ‘Restaurant Heo’ stated, “The drama will deliver significant enjoyment as it explores Heo Gyun’s comical adaptation to modern life after accidentally slipping into it. Please look forward to the chemistry between Xiumin, WJSN’s EXY, Lee Se Eon, and Lee Soo Min as they bring to life the stories of characters with their own backgrounds.”
‘Restaurant Heo’ is a joint production by Y What Media, Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures, and Corpus Japan. It is scheduled to air later this year.
