Actors Woo Do Hwan, WJSN Bona, VIXX’s N, and more gathered together to talk about their upcoming drama “Joseon Attorney.”

On the afternoon of March 31, Woo Do Hwan, WJSN’s Bona, VIXX’s N, Lee Kyu Sung and Director Kim Seung Ho presented extraordinary chemistry at the press presentation of MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Joseon Attorney” held at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam-dong, Seoul, raising expectations for their work.

MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Joseon Lawyer”, directed by Kim Seung Ho and written by Choi Jin Young, is the story of a Joseon Dynasty lawyer who takes revenge on the enemy who killed his parents through trial. It is a pleasant and refreshing Joseon-era court revenge action drama that shows that true revenge is valuable when doing righteous things.

Woo Do Hwan plays the role of Kang Kang Soo, an outsider lawyer with magical charm in “Joseon Lawyer.”  He is left alone in this world and is someone who misled people with all kinds of tricks and did everything in order to win the Songsa Temple. WJSN’s Bona plays the role of Lee Yeon Ju, a princess who truly cares about the country and the people. Lee Yeon Ju is a woman of misfortune who will have an unattainable love while hiding her identity. Two people with opposite tendencies meet and form an unusual relationship.

Director Kim Seung Ho said,

Joseon Attorney’ is a legal drama, but in fact, the legal drama is a background setting of the main character’s job, background, and revenge, but it is a drama with various elements such as comedy and friendship.”

Woo Do Hwan explained why he decided to work on this drama by saying,

It was very difficult when I first did a historical drama when I filmed ‘My Country: The New Age’ in 2019. I felt burdened that it was a historical drama even before reading the script of ‘Joseon Attorney.’
I thought, ‘How am I different from me of back then and me of now?’ and ‘Can I do a historical drama?’ There was a fear that I could show a better performance than ‘My Country: The New Age.’
However, I chose this work because I knew I’m different from what I was three to four years ago.
And I found the script very interesting.”

Woo Do Hwan also said he has a sense of responsibility as a leading actor.

I’m different from three years ago. I think that I myself have changed rather than having changed in my acting after filming “Bloodhounds” and coming back after fulfilling my military duty. I came to think of others before me. ‘Joseon Attorney’ is a work that reminded me of how to work in the field as an actor in the future and how to treat people around me.”

WJSN’s Bona explained how she participated in “Joseon Attorney,” sharing,

Historical drama is a genre that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I also had high faith in director Seung Ho, and when I read the script, I found it attractive because there was no female protagonist who was not passive and just active. While reading the script I decided to do it right away after reading the script of 4 episodes not even completing reading the full script. All the characters were attractive.”

WJSN Bona then expressed confidence, saying, “We filmed at a really good site, and it’s a good work made by good people.”

VIXX’s N shared the sweet relationship of the cast, saying,

I received a lot of happy energy on the spot. I think you will be able to see it well in the drama, each character of ‘Joseon Attorney’ clearly feels real. You can clearly see the relationships between the characters.

I feel emotions like laughing and crying permeating within me without even realizing it. At the filming site, the actors were attached to each other. It was to the level that we even had to tell our schedule and say, ‘I can’t be there at the filming site because I have work.’ They reported to each other about wherever they were. In particular, (Woo) Do Hwan was severe.”

Lee Kyu Sung said,

When I was a prankster in ‘When the Camellia Blooms’, I was lonely at the filming site. I was grateful for everyone’s love, but the parts I had to endure alone were so hard. ‘Joseon Attorney’ was healing and encouraging thanks to Woo Do Hwan and many other actors and staff members.”

In response, Woo Do Hwan said,

It’s a drama that makes you happy and healed just by watching it. You can watch it comfortably thinking that you’re acting with your friends. Compared to ‘Taxi Driver,’ our must-win strategy and the secret weapon is Lee Kyu Sung.”

Meanwhile, “Joseon Attorney ” will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on March 31.

Will you be tuning in for the drama?
