“Two Cops” To Re-Air First Four Episodes In Response To Criticism And Low Ratings
MBC has decided to re-air the newly released drama “Two Cops,” which features the star studded cast of Girls Day Hyeri and Jo Jung Suk.
The drama has aired its first 4 episodes last Monday and Tuesday, but premiered with very low ratings. The first 2 episodes rated 4.6% and 5.1% respectively, while the 3rd and 4th episode rated lower, 3.3% and 3.6% respectively.
It is suspected that due to the unexpected low ratings, the broadcasting station MBC has decided to re-run the re-edited first four episodes.
The drama also suffered from backlash due to Hyeri’s bad acting. The drama has also failed to live up to the expectations, the conman, detective, local news reporter appeared to be clichéd and awfully repetitive as the drama went on.
The aftermath of MBC’s strike also had an effect on the drama. “20th Century Boy and Girl” previously aired in the same time slot and ended with a disappointing average of 2% viewership ratings, the drama also had to conclude earlier than expected.
Fortunately, with KBS’s popular drama “Witch’s Court” out of the way, “Two Cops” still has chance to pick up and gain more viewers.
