TV Chosun has expressed its position on the deletion of a report related to the late Lee Sun Kyun after various netizens noticed that they had deleted the viral article containing the alleged final will by the actor.

At the time of the release of the article, many had criticized the reporter for reporting on such sensitive information despite the family’s request for privacy. Many also wondered how the reporter was able to get their hands on such sensitive information to begin with.

TV Chosun stated to Sports Seoul on the 5th of January, “We deleted the online article at the request of the agency, and it was an attempt to reflect the perspective of the family members involved in the unfortunate incident as much as possible.”

They added, “Since legal procedures such as filing a complaint have been initiated, it is difficult to disclose further details.”

Last December 27th, TV Chosun reported on the late Lee Sun Kyun’s will. This sparked controversy as it went against the wishes of the family to keep the will private.

A couple of days ago, Hodo & U Entertainment officially announced their plans to sue malicious commenters and those who have been slandering the actor the past three months leading up to his death, they also said, “We have filed a lawsuit against the reporter who reported false information as if it were true. We demand sincere apologies from the reporter and their sincere cooperation in the upcoming legal proceedings.”
