The fate of battle for the ratings in the weekend time slot appears to have been sealed.

According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of “My Dearest” rose to an average nationwide rating of 11.8%, this marks the drama’s highest rating yet for this season. Not only that, but the drama was the most-watched program of any kind on Friday.

SBS’s “The Escape Of The Seven,” which competes in the same time slot, has sunk to its lowest rating yet with 5.3%. with this, “The Escape of the Seven” 11th episode became its lowest rated yet, lower than the 5th episode which had rated 5.6%.

Since “My Dearest” part 2 aired, SBS’s “The Escape of the Seven” has been struggling to gain and maintain momentum and has seen its rating fluctuate since “My Dearest” part 2 returned to air.

With this, netizens wonder if there is any hope for “The Escape of the Seven” to regain momentum and whether it can only happen after “My Dearest” wraps up its run. Regardless, with another season coming up, eyes are on the production and whether it’ll become screenwriter Kim Sun-Ok’s lowest rated work in some time.
