Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” is facing controversy early on!

On the 11th of July, a post exposing allegations of workplace abuse by the staff of Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” was uploaded on an online community.

A netizen posted an article titled “I saw a staff member of ‘Squid Game 2,’ which I thought was a drama, yesterday” and shared their experience. The author stated, “On the 10th, I encountered the filming crew of ‘Squid Game 2’ at Incheon Airport. One of the staff members of ‘Squid Game 2’ blocked people trying to use the escalator and rudely ordered them to go elsewhere.”

They further expressed their dissatisfaction, saying, “Shouldn’t they have apologized and asked people to move politely, considering that they inconvenienced Incheon Airport users? It was absurd. They didn’t even charter the entire Incheon Airport. There have been several controversies in the past involving the lack of manners from staff members of variety shows and drama productions towards citizens, but it seems this staff member is oblivious. They caused inconvenience to people and yet act so confidently and shamelessly.”

In response to the post that has since gone viral, Netflix stated, “We have received information that a citizen experienced discomfort during the filming of ‘Squid Game 2’ at Incheon Airport on the 10th. Although we made our best efforts to provide detailed explanations about the situation to the citizens during the filming process, we apologize for causing inconvenience. We sincerely appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the citizens who allowed the filming to take place. We will be more cautious in the filming process in the future.”
