Seems like fans will have to wait longer to see Song Joong Ki back on the small screen.
His entertainment agency Blossom Entertainment released an official statement regarding the news of his turning down the offer to lead “Kingdom”, they said,
“Song Joong Ki has turned down the offer to lead the upcoming drama ‘Kingdom’, nothing has yet been confirmed for his next project.”
Various news outlets reported that Song Joong Ki turned down the offer to focus on his wedding preparations with Song Hye Kyo. A source from the drama production stated,
“We will start filming once the casting is complete. We were originally planning on filming in September, but to increase the quality, the shooting will begin in October.”
The highly anticipated drama “Kingdom” is written by Writer Kim Eun Hee who previously wrote the hit drama “Signal” and will be directed by “Tunnel-Movie” director Kim Sung Hoon. The drama is an upcoming Netflix original, it will be 100% pre-produced and is set to be released in the second half of 2018.
