The director of ‘Queen of Tears’, Kim Hee Won, has revealed the viewer ratings promise.

The production presentation of tvN’s new weekend drama ‘Queen of Tears’ (written by Park Ji Eun, directed by Jang Young Woo Kim Hee Won) was held recently. The director, along with actors Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and Lee Joo Bin, attended the event and shared stories about the production.

‘Queen of Tears’ is a story about the thrilling crisis and miraculous love story of Hong Hae In (played by Kim Ji Won), the queen of a Queens group and a department store, and Baek Hyun Woo (played by Kim Soo Hyun), the son of a village leader and a supermarket prince, who are in their third year of marriage.

When asked about his three-year hiatus, Kim Soo Hyun replied, “I didn’t try to disappear as if I had gone to the military. I was diligently searching for a project. Then I met ‘Queen of Tears’.”

Kim Soo Hyun expressed his desire to experience and portray the characteristics of a husband in his first on-screen married couple role. He said, “I want to portray the delicacy, smartness, and the inner awkwardness in an enjoyable way. I want to make people cry and laugh.”

Director Kim Hee Won praised Kim Soo Hyun’s portrayal of Baek Hyun Woo, saying, “He is truly amazing. As everyone knows, he showed deep acting skills, and in this work, the actor Kim Soo Hyun shows whether he can be charmingly ruined.”

Furthermore, Kim Soo Hyun complimented Kim Ji Won, saying, “Everyone can empathize with her. Kim Ji Won is a kind person, whether she is acting or not. She is very considerate. So, I want to call her the ‘Queen of Consideration’.”

Kim Ji Won laughed in embarrassment when asked what title she should be given, and when ad-libbing was mentioned, Kim Soo Hyun clapped his hands to bring laughter.

As the next work of Park Ji Eun, who set a record for the highest viewer ratings in tvN drama history with ‘Crash Landing on You’, there is a lot of attention on ‘Queen of Tears’.

In response to a question about viewer ratings, Director Kim Hee Won declared the ‘Big Bow Challenge’ by saying, “I would like to say a very large number in my heart, but ratings are something that comes from the heavens. Personally, my wish is that the ratings will be a little higher than the last episode of ‘Crash Landing on You’, and if that happens, I plan to gather the five actors and film a big bow video to show my gratitude.”

‘Queen of Tears’ premieres on March 9.
