Actor Na In Woo is excited about his upcoming rom-com set to release in 2024, in a recent interview, he spoke about his chemistry with his co-star Park Min Young and had this to say.
The new TVN drama series “Marry My Husband” (written by Shin Yoo Dam, directed by Park Won Gook and Han Jin Seon, produced by Studio Dragon and DK E&M) will premiere on January 1, 2024 at 8:50 PM. The drama tells the story of a woman who witnesses her best friend and husband’s affair, gets killed, and then goes back ten years to experience her second life, changing their destitute fate.
In the drama, Na In Woo plays the role of Yu Ji Hyuk, the marketing director of U&K Food, a major corporation, who possesses not only a handsome face and physique but also intelligence, making him the alpha male of this era. He has achieved the highest levels of wealth and abilities, but the only moment where Yu Ji Hyuk cannot make rational judgments and decisions is when he faces his secret crush, Kang Ji Won (played by Park Min Young). In front of her, he loses control and becomes extremely clumsy. However, when he regresses to his second life after Kang Ji Won’s death in the first life, Yu Ji Hyuk will become a reliable and powerful ally, ready to give up everything he has.
Na In Woo stated, “When I read the script, I was drawn to the setting of ‘regression’ and a vivid ‘revenge drama’.” He also pointed out the point of the character he plays, saying, “Woo Ji Hyuk may seem cold and ruthless on the outside, but in front of his crush Ji Won, he becomes weak. I think I can feel the charm of the twist in that attractiveness.”
Na In Woo also mentioned that he had a lot of concerns about how to portray Woo Ji Hyuk, who is cold and sensitive but unconditionally warm to Ji Won. He said, “I thought that if the character’s essence did not deviate and I acted without breaking the immersion of the viewers, it would work. I made efforts to naturally continue the emotional line by constantly studying Woo Ji Hyuk.”
He also described Kang Ji Won as “a unique and precious existence that he wants to protect and must protect for Woo Ji Hyuk.” The chemistry with Park Min Young (who plays Kang Ji Won) is especially important in capturing this poignant relationship. Nine Woo said, “Acting with senior Park Min Young was definitely the best. Senior Park Min Young has more acting experience and is excellent at expressing the character. Therefore, I was able to naturally immerse myself in the character of Woo Ji Hyuk.” He added these words, raising expectations for the romance.
