Beloved actress Lim Soo Jung has responded to the poor performance of her previous film “Cobweb” despite its star-studded lineup.

On the morning of the 17th of November, Lim Soo Jung conducted an interview with Ten Asia In Seoul, regarding the film “Single In Seoul.”

Regarding the low performance of “Cobweb,” Lim Soo Jung said, “Isn’t the score something that we can’t control I think this film is a story that all creators can empathize with. I hope that this film will eventually be understood and loved by the public after some time.”

“Cobweb” was released during the Chuseok season and received critical acclaim for its artistic merits but had a poor box office performance, recording only 310,000 viewers.

Lim Soo Jung added, “I don’t feel disappointed, but I believe that someday the audience will recognize it. Nevertheless, I was really happy that Cobweb was invited to the Cannes Film Festival. I heard that the film market itself has become more difficult. They said that there were no films that broke even during the Chuseok holiday. However, I believe that good films will be rediscovered by the audience over time, no matter how. So, I don’t feel disappointed.”

As she has been on the path of an actress for a long time, her thoughts on evaluations have become more mature. Lim Soo Jung, who has already surpassed 20 years since her debut, said that she focuses more on challenges rather than the results. “When I was young and building up my filmography, I felt pressure to surpass my previous works. I had a mindset that I had to build up my filmography step by step, so I became more cautious and thought of playing it safe without taking bigger challenges. At that time, I was so focused on the results that there were times when I couldn’t do the projects I wanted to do, but now things have changed a bit.”
