Lee Junho and YoonA have attended the press conference of the highly anticipated JTBC drama “King The Land,” and here are some of the highlights of what was said during the conference.

On the 15th of June, the production presentation of the JTBC weekend drama “King The Land” took place at a Hotel Seoul. Lee Junho, YoonA and director Im Hyun Wook attended the event, which was hosted by broadcaster Park Kyung Rim.

“King The Land” is a drama that tells the story of Gu Won (Lee Junho), a man who scoffs at laughter, and Cheon Sarang (YoonA), an angel who must smile, as they work at the VVIP lounge which is the dream of hoteliers, to create a day when they can truly laugh.

“King The Land” is aiming to continue the success of its predecessor dramas such as “The Penthouse: War in Life,” “Beyond Evil,” and “Doctor Detective.” When asked if there is any pressure, director Im responded, “If I say there is no pressure, it would be a lie, but it is a good situation. Since the beginning of JTBC, we have faced difficulties together, but I am positively thinking that our work is being released in a successful period. Rather than feeling burdened, we are enjoying it and believing that we will do even better.”

Director Im expressed his high expectations for the joining of Lee Junho and YoonA in a unique way. He said, “In a way, it feels like three generations have come together to build this project. When I received the proposal for the drama, I heard that both of them had already read the script. I thought that it might be because of the accumulation of their talents and virtues that we were able to work together. It wasn’t just a happy feeling, but a feeling of ‘it’s done’ (meaning it’s successful).”

Lee Junho, who took on the role of Gu Won, a newly appointed branch manager at King Hotel who scorns laughter, is returning to a drama after about two years since MBC’s “The Red Sleeve.” He went on to share his thoughts on joining the drama, stating, “Since ‘The Red Sleeve’ was a drama based on history, where we knew to some extent how it would end and it was a poignant and heart-wrenching drama, this time I wanted to try a work that is filled with love and laughter.”

In addition, Lee Junho mentioned that it was challenging for him to hold back his laughter during filming, unlike his character. He said, “Playing a role that scorns laughter was a big challenge for me, and it was definitely not an easy choice. Whenever there was an NG or a cut, I was busy laughing, and it was difficult for me to restrain my laughter during filming.”

YoonA plays the role of Cheon Sarang, an excellent hotelier at King Hotel who dislikes being funny but has to smile. After about a year since MBC’s “Big Mouth,” YoonA returns to the small screen and shared her thoughts on joining a romantic comedy, saying, “This is my first time doing a genuine romantic comedy. I think because my previous work, ‘Big Mouth,’ had a weighty atmosphere, I wanted to greet the audience with a bright and cheerful character. I have received a lot of love when I showed this kind of character in several movies, and I wanted to show a different side from my previous work.”

Meanwhile, the JTBC drama “King The Land” will premiere on the 17th at 10:30 PM.
