Actor Lee Ji Hoon has apologized for the controversy surrounding his power abuse allegations.
On the 31st, Lee Ji Hoon attended the production briefing for the film ‘No Gaps Between Us’ held at Lotte Cinema in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Before the event began, he bowed his head and said, “I am nervous as this is my first public appearance after causing concerns due to personal matters. Nevertheless, I have learned a lot and I would like to apologize.”
Lee Ji Hoon was embroiled in controversy last year during the filming of the drama ‘Sponsor’ when he was accused of bullying. A staff member who participated in the filming claimed that Lee Ji Hoon engaged in power abuse behavior on set, leading to the replacement of half of the writer and staff members allegedly due to his influence. Lee Ji Hoon denied the accusations, leading to a public dispute.
Afterward, the misunderstanding was resolved through dialogue, and the controversy seemed to have come to an end. However, Lee Ji Hoon’s absence from the production briefing, despite being the lead actor, indicated that the conflict was not resolved.
This public appearance was the first since the controversy unfolded.
‘No Gaps Between Us’ is Lee Ji Hoon’s comeback film after a four-year hiatus and his first leading role. He introduced his character, Lee Seung-jin, saying, “In ‘No Gaps Between Us,’ I play the role of Seung-jin, who represents the environment that young people are currently facing. He has a dream of becoming a singer but lacks talent. He comes to a shabby house to audition for his last chance and challenges his dream.”
Lee Ji Hoon is returning to the screen after an approximately two-year hiatus following the controversy.
