MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Chief Detective 1958’ has unveiled its main poster!

The production team has revealed the main poster featuring the four detectives: Park Young-han (played by Lee Je Hoon), Kim Sang-soon (played by Lee Dong Hwi), Jo Kyung-hwan (played by Choi Woo Sung), and Seo Ho-jung (played by Yoon Hyun Soo).

‘Chief Detective 1958’ is a prequel to the history of Korean detective dramas, focusing on Detective Park Young-han’s assignment in Seoul in 1958. Set in the era of chaos, the drama follows Detective Park Young-han and his three unique colleagues as they come together to break the corrupt power structures and become detectives for the people. This retro crime investigation drama, filled with the romance and charm of analog investigations, promises a different catharsis for the younger generation and a nostalgic experience for those reminiscing about the exploits of ‘Detective Park’.

The main poster features the four detectives walking confidently on the streets of Seoul, exuding an extraordinary aura. Behind them, the nostalgic storefront signs and a tram running along the road perfectly capture the atmosphere of the 50s and 60s. The tagline “In the era of chaos, a humane detective drama by real detectives” hints at the passionate teamwork of these detectives who will write a new legend.

Lee Je Hoon plays the young Park Young-han, a tough detective with a strong sense of justice and insight. Lee Dong Hwi portrays Kim Sang-soon, a fearless detective at Jongnam Police Station. Choi Woo Sung and Yoon Hyun Soo also deliver remarkable performances as the other two detectives, adding to the anticipation for their characters’ journeys.

The drama is helmed by director Kim Sung-hoon, known for films like ‘Confidential Assignment’ and ‘Rampant’, with the script by Kim Young-sin, discovered by MBC’s drama IP development team behind ‘Kkondae Intern’ and ‘Black Sun’. Park Jae-beom, who has worked on dramas like ‘Chief Kim’ and ‘The Fiery Priest’, serves as the creator.

The drama will premiere on MBC on April 19th at 9:50 PM.
