Actor Lee Dong Gun has answered the press’s questions about his daughter.
A couple of days ago, Lee Dong Gun made his first official appearance at a public event after his divorce from Jo Yoon Hee, gathering attention as he mentioned their daughter.
Lee Dong Gun, who returned to the screen after a four-year hiatus with the Netflix original series “Celebrity” following his appearance in the 2019 TV Chosun drama “Leverage: Fraud Control Operation,” expressed his thoughts on his comeback and talked about their daughter.
He said, “At that time, our daughter was going from 5 to 7 years old, and it was important how much time I could spend with her. I couldn’t always be by her side. I invested the most heart and time into spending time with my child to make her not feel the absence of her father.”
He continued, “And I’m very happy and grateful to be part of the glamorous and sparkling production ‘Celebrity.'”
On the 27th of June, Jo Yoon Hee posted several photos on her social media without any particular explanation. It was her first social media activity in 3 years since her divorce from Lee Dong Gun in 2020.
She showcased a photoshoot for the July issue of a housewife magazine, where she also revealed the current state of her 7-year-old daughter. In the photos, her daughter Roa has grown significantly since her appearance on the JTBC variety show “Fearless Solo Parenting – I’m Raising My Child.” With her lovely appearance resembling both her mother and father, Roa radiates a charming smile.
Lee Dong Gun and Jo Yoon Hee got married in 2017 and had their daughter Roa that same year. After three years, they reached a mutual agreement and divorced in 2020, with Jo Yoon Hee gaining custody of their daughter.
Even after their divorce, the fact that the two continue to maintain their relationship as “parents” to their daughter has also been a topic of discussion. Two years ago, when they appeared on the show “I’m Raising My Child,” Jo Yoon Hee and Roa were shown visiting a blueberry farm as ingredients for “Dad’s birthday cake.” At that time, Jo Yoon Hee mentioned that Roa meets her father every week and said, “Making a birthday cake for her dad was not a burden for me. Roa’s dad is an important family member to her.”
