The main cast of “Island” talks about their upcoming drama “Island” at its press conference and what Lee Da Hee had to say caught attention.

“Island” is a fantasy action drama based on writers Yoon In Wan and Yang Kyung Il’s popular cartoon of the same name, and tells the story of the journey of characters who are destined to fight against evil which tries to destroy the world. Director Bae Jong, who has been recognized for his outstanding and delicate directing skills with movies such as “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City,” challenged his first series through “Island.”

Lee Da Hee plays the role of Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and a teacher. When asked why she participated in the work, she confessed,

It was a work that I was rather hanging on to. I first thought that I wanted to draw Mi Ho well.”

As for the character she plays, she said,

She looks cold from the outside, but she is a warm person on the inside. When I meet ban, my emotions change. I think that’s the point.”

When asked why she really wanted to participate in this drama, Lee Da Hee explained,

At that time, the period of inactivity gap was long. I wanted to do it because I was greedy since this work is an action drama, but it seems that viewers felt a sense of difference after knowing about my participation.
It was a situation where I was unable to do activities because I was hurt by such comments. There was originally another actor scheduled for this role, but the position for this role got empty then I thought I should move actively and play this role.
