Lee Da Hee Talks About Getting Close To Super Junior’s Choi Siwon While Working On “Love is for Suckers” And More At Press Conference
The cast of “Love is for Suckers” talked about their new drama at the press conference, here are some of the highlights of what was discussed.
On October 5, the cast of “Love is for Suckers” gathered to talk about their drama at its press conference.
ENA’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Love is for Suckers” is a real-life romance in which 20-year-old best friends Yeo Reum and Jae Hoon unexpectedly meet as a producer and a cast member of a crazy love reality show and start to have unexpected feelings for each other.
Lee Da Hee plays Koo Yeo Reum who has been an entertainment producer for 10 years who is desperate for work and dating. Koo Yeo Reum is a person who burns with her passion. She directs the crazy love reality show “Kingdom of Love” in a desperate crisis. Its known that every program she works on get eventually cancelled.
Choi Siwon plays Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgery doctor who has lost interest in his work and dating, and a neighborhood classmate of Koo Yeo Reum. Park Jae Hoon is a neighborhood friend who lives in Koo Yeo Reum’s downstairs floor. He is at a crossroads in his life after deciding to appear in “Kingdom of Love” to help Koo Yeo Reum.
It is written by writer Kim Sol Ji, who has built a fresh and attractive character setting and a unique and dense outlook through the dramas “Heading on the Ground,” and “Pegasus Market,” and director Choi Kyu Sik with works such as “Rude Miss Young-ae,” “Drinking Solo,” who makes realistic daily life and love stories.
Choi Siwon, Lee Da Hee, Jo Su Hyang, Park Yeon Woo, Lee Ju Yeon, Min Jin Woong, and Lee Dae Hwi will appear in the drama.
Lee Da Hee elaborated about working on the drama, she said,
I can still remember the scene I filmed a month and a half ago when I first met Choi Siwon, and I’m still filming the drama, and I was proud and touched to see the edited work.
It was so fun and I felt that the lines were very catchy. As my character is a woman in her late 30s, I felt the things I sympathized with and have similar thoughts about so it felt like my story. I wish I had a friend like Jae Hoon. It could be easy, but it seemed like a dream to me and I was greatly satisfied. It felt like everything was in place. The lines and content were drawn to me. Writer Kim Sol Ji wrote the lines matching my usual tone. Such a combination was enough because the director did a good job of realistic content in his previous works. There’s also actor Choi Siwon. I wondered if it will be very fun and memorable work.”
When asked about her character, Lee Da Hee revealed of having similarities with the character “Koo Yeo Reum” by sharing,
She is a bit more friendly. She could be a friend or older sister who seems to be next to you, and if she was cold and upright before, Yeo Reum is more active and alive.
The character was something similar to my real personality and Yeo Reum’s great charm is that she always does everything sincerely, does her best, and with the most passion.
Passion sometimes leads, but it often doesn’t work. That part is similar (to Lee Da Hee), and I think I am sincere when dealing with people and dealing with love.
She is the most affectionate character among all the works I’ve done so far. There was nothing difficult because it was my daily life. Sometimes, the part that Yeo Reum talks about strongly is the part that I have inside me even if I don’t try to force myself to do it. My personality is similar to Yeo Reum. I think of a cold and urban image, but I wanted to greet you with a part similar to my real self through Koo Yeo Reum’s character.”
Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon also commented, “She’s a really funny person. She has a sense of humor.”
While smiling at Choi Siwon, Lee Da Hee said,
I filmed another work just before, and I saw the drama for the first time with Siwon, the director, and the writer during the reading. We got close while eating dinner together, and Siwon made a lot of effort.”
In response, Choi Siwon said, “Making a thorough relationship is good. It’s good to have an affectionate relationship, not A and B.“
Lee Da Hee mentioned how she got close with Choi Siwon, saying, “I got close after drinking with him.”
Choi Siwon said this about Lee Da Hee,
I’m always surprised by Da Hee. I’m very surprised at how professional she is. I think I’m a colleague and senior who has a lot to learn, and I think I can get close with her quickly.”
