“Lies Hidden In My Garden” has held its press conference today, here is what the actors had to say about the highly anticipated upcoming drama.
Actresses Kim Tae Hee, and Lim Ji Yeon have returned with a thriller genre in the drama “Lies Hidden In My Garden.” They have promised an intense romance. Their new sides, which have never been seen before, are highly anticipated.
“Lies Hidden In My Garden” is a suspense thriller drama based on a novel of the same name. Director Jung, known for ‘Search: WWW’ and ‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ directed the drama.
Director Jung explained, “It was a work with a lot of psychological descriptions expressed through narration rather than dialogue. Those descriptions had very appealing points, so I tried to express them as they were.”
Director Jung revealed the casting story himself. He said, “There was no reason not to cast Kim Tae Hee because she is an icon of an era that has captivated a generation. She is an actress that any director would want to work with,” and added about Lim Ji Yeon, “I had many concerns, but I received many recommendations. I delivered the script without any doubt, and fortunately, Lim Ji Yeon chose the script, which made me happy.”
Kim Tae Hee plays ‘Juran,’ a housewife living a perfect daily life. However, she suddenly smells a dead body in the backyard and falls into severe confusion.
It is her first thriller challenge since her debut. Kim Tae Hee said, “When I first read the script, even though it was a thriller, I was so immersed in it. When Part 1 of the script ended, I was curious about Part 2 and ‘Juran.’ When I imagined how to express it, my heart raced.”
As it is a work where the narration has a significant impact, it was not easy, but Kim Tae Hee said, “Among the roles I have played so far, this one had the fewest lines.”
Therefore, she focused on her gaze. She explained, “I had to speak with my eyes. If I compare it to the painting, it was like delicate description. I was fully engaged in capturing those subtle changes in facial expressions.”
Lim Ji Yeon plays ‘Sang Eun,’ a domestic violence victim dreaming of escaping from a miserable reality. After meeting Juran, her life takes a turning point.
Lim Ji Yeon said, “When I read the script and saw the original novel, I fell in love with it. I felt like this is mine. As soon as I read the script, I became curious about the woman named ‘Sang Eun.’ She was so intriguing.”
She spared no effort in her efforts. She said, “On the surface, it may not be apparent, but I put in effort to build up my inner self. I hoped to become Sang Eun by staying still.”
The chemistry between the two actors is undoubtedly an anticipated factor. How would the interaction between the two characters, who seem similar yet different, be?
Kim Tae Hee expressed her gratitude for Lim Ji Yeon’s immersion. She recalled, “The emotions I felt toward Sang Eun went beyond sympathy; they were complex and subtle. The abstraction allowed the emotions to naturally emerge.”
Lim Ji Yeon promised exceptional chemistry. She said, “When two women with different colors meet, there are moments when they feel a sense of familiarity as if looking in a mirror. I hope to experience those moments.”
