“Jirisan” is up to a great start!
On October 23, the highly-anticipated kdrama “Jirisan” starring Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon aired its first episode and it has already broke records.
According to Nielsen Korea, “Jirisan” premiered to 9.1% in ratings taking the No.1 spot in it’s time slot across all channels [public and private]. “Jirisan” has already broken records. It’s become the highest-rated weekend drama premiere in tvN’s history and the second highest-rated premiere drama in all of tvN’s history, bested only by “Hospital Playlist 2” which premiered to 10%.
It also performed well among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored a nationwide average of 5.4%.
“Jirisan” is written by Kim Eun Hee and tells the story of a top ranger at mount Jiri and a rookie partner. The pair uncover the truth of mysterious events that take place in the mountain.
Meanwhile, SBS’s hit comedy “One the Woman” scored an average nationwide rating of 12.5% extending its record as the most-watched miniseries of the entire week for 10 episodes straight. “The Veil” ended with a strong rating of 8.8%, while JTBC’s “Lost” scored 1.2%.
