As the buzz among some fans over Jo In Sung growing a beard continues, he personally explained the reason behind it.

On the 24th of October, Jo In Sung attended an award ceremony and appeared in a beard, attracting attention.

Jo In Sung posted several photos with the beard to his Instagram. In response, fans expressed their reactions such as “Are you testing the limits of my love?”, “Oppa, no beard please”, and “From today, I will pray for Oppa to shave.”

On the same day, Jo In Sung added a selfie with the caption “Thank you for your congratulations,” and the comments from fans pointing out the beard filled the post too with people wondering why he was sporting a beard.

Jo In Sung replied to comments such as “You can’t celebrate with a beard,” and “No, I can’t love the beard,” with a comment saying, “I can do it.” He also explained it was done as soon as the deposit was made [likely referring to his beard being a contractual agreement].

When one fan said, “Oppa, you better go shave, or else,” he wrote back, “I can’t, even if it comes to the ‘or else’.”

In another comment, he responded to a confused fan and wrote, “It’ll all explain itself once you watch the film.”

Meanwhile, Jo In-sung has been confirmed to appear in director Na Hong-jin’s new film ‘Hope.’ ‘Hope’ tells the story of residents who face a mysterious attack that starts in the isolated harbor village of Hopo. After witnessing an unidentified presence on the outskirts of the village, they search for its true nature and depict the residents’ struggle as the village is on the brink of destruction.
