Actor Jo Byeong Gyu has chosen to directly confront the allegations of school violence.

On the afternoon of the 21st of July the online press conference for tvN’s new weekend drama “The Uncanny Counter 2” was held.

Jo Byeong Gyustood at the official podium for the first time in about a year and a half, after being embroiled in two allegations of school violence. At the time, Jo Byeong Gyu and his agency appealed for innocence and pursued legal action. However, as the person who wrote the revelation post is residing in New Zealand, the matter has not yet been resolved.

On this day, Jo Byeong Gyu mentioned the school violence allegations, saying, “I have done my best to clarify that it is not true, and I am still doing my best. As there is a person in a foreign country, the broadcast is coming out before reaching a clear conclusion, and I feel a great sense of responsibility.”

He continued, “Today is not a personal space, but a production presentation. Many staff, directors, and seniors have put in a lot of effort and sweat for the drama. I hope you send a lot of love and interest to the work. With a sense of responsibility, we filmed the second season with more intensity supported by evil than the first season.”

In this new season, Jo Byeong Gyu appears as a 20-year-old, having grown up from his role as a high school student in season 1. Jo Byung-gyu drew attention by saying, “If the viewers permit it, I wanted to continue wearing a school uniform, but the writer and director did not allow it. Before filming, the director wanted a more manly look than season 1, so I ate protein and worked hard at the gym to create a rough appearance. I also applied less lotion.”

When asked about his impressions of gathering as counters again, he replied, “From the first filming of season 1 to the last filming of season 2, I was so happy, and I have nothing but good memories. It was a series of situations where we didn’t need to coordinate separately. Looking back, it was a time of pure happiness.”

“The Uncanny Counter 2” will premiere on the 29th at 9:20 PM.
