Actors Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do will meet in SBS’s new drama ‘Connection’.
SBS’s new drama ‘Connection’ (directed by Kim Moon-kyo, written by Lee Hyun) is a “psychological crime investigation thriller” that unravels the distorted friendship and connection that has continued for 20 years through the clue of a friend’s death, involving a narcotics team ace detective who was forcibly addicted to drugs by someone.
‘Connection’ is attracting attention with the collaboration of writer Lee Hyun, who has proven a tight narrative and solid writing skills through “Diary of a Prosecutor”, and director Kim Moon-kyo, who has been recognized for his delicate and meticulous directorial skills in ‘Trolley’.
The meeting of Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do, who have established themselves as reliable actors, is also raising expectations.
Ji Sung will play the role of Jang Jae-kyung, the deputy chief of the narcotics team at Anhyun Police Station, who receives the respect of his juniors and the trust of his seniors within the police force. He is a person who dedicates himself to police work without any weaknesses, maintaining a distance from friendships, police work, and family affairs in order to practice the motto, “There are no weaknesses in a successful person without connections and backing,” and yet always adhering to his principles.
Jeon Mi Do will appear as Oh Yoon-jin, a journalist from the social affairs department of Ahnhyun Daily who is strong-willed and unreserved in her words. She is a character with a Jeanne d’Arc-like personality who rushes to counter condescending remarks regardless of her position, and she was unfairly dismissed from her previous job because of it. After returning to Ahnhyun City, she decides to become a “scum of the scum” with the motto “Friendship is money” and faces challenges in getting rehired or finding a new job.
The production team stated, “Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do’s incomparable acting skills will further enhance the completeness of ‘Connection'”, and asked for anticipation for the drama.
SBS’s new drama ‘Connection’ is scheduled to air in 2024.
