KBS2 has unveiled new posters featuring Ji Chang Wook for his new healing drama “If You Wish Upon Me”!
“Tell Me Your Wish” is a drama inspired by an actual organization that exists in the Netherlands that fulfills wishes for terminally ill cancer patients. The drama will focus on the story of a young man who is pushed to his limits by a life full of struggles, he goes to a hospice hospital and joins the staff in fulfilling the last wishes of people. The drama also stars Ji Chang Wook, Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung, and Sung Dong Il.
Trigger Warning: Brief mention of self-harm.
Ji Chang Wook will be taking on the role of the Yoon Gyeo Re. A man who doesn’t have any desires or will and is barely holding on to the present, he is a ‘broken adult child’ who grew a habit of causing himself pain by getting a lot of tattoos. Yoon Gyeo Re grew up in an orphanage then was held at a youth detention center, and later landed in prison. He began volunteering at the hospice due to an accident and struggles again to survive for the last time.
The first newly released poster shows Ji Chang Wook transformation into Yoon Gyeo Re, he will be displaying a new side of him by portraying a different and unique character. In addition, the tattoos on his arms grabs the attention along with his empty expression that shows his emotionless eyes. The poster reads, “Granting wishes? You get paid to do that?”
The second poster shows Yoon Gyeo Re on the beach holding a puppy in his arms. The poster has a lonely feeling to it with Yoon Gyeo Re’s gaze fixed on the ground, he seems defeated and low-spirited. The contrast between the first rough poster and this poster increases curiosity.
“If You Wish Upon Me” is set to premiere on August 10.
