The drama “Welcome to Samdal-ri” held an online production presentation on the 1st of December, here are some highlights of what was said!
On December 1st, Director Cha Young-hoon, Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun attended.
“Welcome to Samdalri” tells the story of Sam-dal, who left her hometown and rose to success while disregarding the importance of the river, in contrast to Yong-pil, who cherishes the river. After losing everything and hitting rock bottom, Sam-dal returns to her hometown and seeks solace. It is a heartwarming and humorous drama that portrays characters who, despite becoming adults, remain delicate and inexperienced in life, providing healing and warm emotions.
Ji Chang Wook praised Shin Hye Sun, saying that she was the “endorphin of the set” and that she made him feel comfortable and able to do more in their scenes together. He also mentioned that when he read the script, he thought that Shin Hye Sun would be a good fit for ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’ and that it would be a pleasant project.
Shin Hye Sun expressed her gratitude to Ji Chang Wook, saying that she had asked him to praise her a lot during the production presentation, “I asked him to compliment me a lot at the press conference, and he said he could do it for three hours. I was satisfied.”
She also said about Ji Chang Wook, “I was looking forward to seeing his gaze in real life, and when I actually saw it, I thought it could be sold as a tourist attraction. He made me laugh. I’m not someone who easily laughs at others, but he made me laugh.”
She added, “I’m not someone who can’t hold back laughter in front of the camera, but in this production, I actually laughed a lot on screen. Watching the lovely and cute Yong-pil, I was able to find my character’s voice with his help,” without saying a word, she gave a thumbs up.
Finally, Ji Chang-wook made a promise to distribute free eye contact at the Jeju Airport duty-free shop if the drama’s viewership rating exceeds 20%, making everyone laugh.
“Welcome to Samdalri” will be broadcast on JTBC on the 2nd at 10:30 PM.
