Actress Hwang Jung Eum has addressed the press’s questions about her divorce!

Recently, the production presentation of the new Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection’ was held and attended by the main cast.

Although this event was the first time Hwang Jung Eum appeared on stage after her husband, professional golfer Lee Young Don, and she faced difficulties in her personal life, she did not lose her confident attitude. Even when asked about her divorce, she said firmly, “As an actress, I am focusing on my acting.”

Hwang Jung Eum faced rumors of divorce after posting on her SNS about conflicts with her husband last month. As the rumors spread, her agency announced, “After careful consideration, it is difficult to maintain the marriage any longer. We are in the process of divorce proceedings.”

Married in 2016, she filed for divorce mediation in September 2020, but reunited in July the following year and welcomed a second son. However, after three years, they ultimately chose divorce, sparking more attention.

Hwang Jung Eum talked about the drama, “From September 2022 until recently, I poured all my passion into filming the drama for about two years. Before revealing such a drama, I feel sorry for causing harm to our colleagues and staff due to personal issues. However, as an actor, no matter the situation, you have to set everything aside and focus on acting. I also focused with great concentration to separate my acting and my personal situation.”

She briefly tensed up when indirectly mentioning her divorce, but soon after said, “I am happy to have focused on my work and successfully completed filming.”

Continuing her role as a villain in this season as well, Hwang Jung Eum said, “After screaming for a year and eight months, my voice has improved. It’s my first time playing such a strong villain, so it’s really fun. If in season 1, I was like a strong general, this time you will see a slightly different determined acting according to the story. I’ve also improved my vocalization, so you’ll find season 2’s acting more comfortable, right? Haha!”
