Its been reported that a drama Lee Sang Yeob and Jung Eun Ji were in talks for has been effectively canceled, however, the production team has since denied the news.

According to an exclusive report by Star News on the 20th of June, they alleged that the production of the new drama “Genie, Earth” has recently been abandoned.

‘Genie, Earth’ was a fantasy-melodrama-action-comedy genre that depicted the story of a former prosecutor who gains supernatural abilities due to extraterrestrial substances and fights against evil forces trying to dominate the world. The casting news of Lee Sang Yeob and Jung Eun Ji as the male and female leads had gathered much attention.

The report alleges the drama faced issues related to investment and scheduling, leading to the cancellation of production during the pre-production stage and claim all shooting and related schedules have been put on hold.

In a later statement, the production company denied the news, the production team expressed their frustration, stating, “It is true that it was a project that was planned to discuss scheduling after shooting as a pre-production work. However, there have been changes in the investment schedule, and we had to discuss scheduling first.”

They clarified, “It doesn’t mean that the production has been canceled at all. Both the cast and staff members are waiting eagerly for the production to start. Currently, we are actively discussing to proceed with the production as quickly as possible. We are putting our efforts into discussions regarding scheduling from various perspectives so that we can start the production.”
