Disney+ Unveils New Stills Of Cha Seung Won And Kim Seon Ho Drama “The Tyrant”

The drama, “The Tyrant,” directed by Park Hoon-jung, known for “The Witch”, will be released on Disney+ in the second half of 2024.

Starring Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, and Kim Kang Woo, “The Tyrant” has been a hot topic since early on, and will be presented as a Disney+ original series in the latter half of 2024.

“The Tyrant” is a chase action drama where people gather for different purposes to obtain a sample of the “Tyrant Program” that went missing in a delivery accident, and end up chasing after each other.

Director Park Hoon-jung, known for creating a unique world with interesting stories and stylish action in works such as “New World”, “The Witch” series, and the officially invited film to the 77th Venice International Film Festival, “Night in Paradise”, has garnered attention for his upcoming work.

Originally planned as a film, “The Tyrant” was developed as a 4-part series to fully capture the high-level entertainment of the genre, the charm of diverse characters, and the progressive storytelling during production.

Director Park Hoon-jung expressed his excitement about the release of “The Tyrant” as a Disney+ original series, stating that he believed Disney+ was the best platform to showcase the series while respecting the original expression of the work and allowing bold moves.

The newly released stills of “The Tyrant” add more curiosity about the unique characters portrayed by the four actors. Cha Seung Won plays the role of former agent Im Sang, tasked with eliminating factions related to the “Tyrant Program”, showcasing an irreplaceable presence.

Additionally, Kim Seon Ho exudes a mysterious charm as Chief Choi, who unofficially operates the “Tyrant Program” within a government agency.

Furthermore, Kim Kang Woo adds tension to the drama as Paul, an overseas intelligence agency employee trying to dispose of the last sample of the “Tyrant Program”.

Lastly, director Park Hoon-jung, known for discovering fresh faces for his works, has chosen newcomer Cho Yoon Soo as the protagonist of “The Tyrant”. Cho Yoon Soo, with his sharp gaze, joins the cast as tech specialist Ja-kyung, who is tasked with stealing the sample of the “Tyrant Program”.

With high-level genre entertainment, intense character charm, and diverse casting, director Park Hoon-jung’s debut series, “The Tyrant”, is highly anticipated as a Disney+ original series set to be released in the latter half of 2024.
