tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Delightfully Deceitful” cast recently gathered for its official press conference to talk about the new drama.

On the 25th of May, the online production presentation for tvN’s “Delightfully Deceitful” was held. Director Lee Soo Hyun PD, along with Chun Woo Hee, Kim Dong Wook, Yoon Park, Park So Jin and  Lee Yeon gathered.

“Delightfully Deceitful” is a revenge drama that revolves around an unsympathetic con artist and an overly sympathetic lawyer, depicting the absolute evil and thrilling cooperation scam between two very different individuals. It is scheduled to showcase the shining revenge and cooperation scam drama that goes beyond the collaboration and opposition of con artist Lee Ro-Woom and lawyer Han Moo-young.

Director Lee Soo Hyun said, ““Delightfully Deceitful” tells the story of collaboration and deception towards a common goal of revenge. It is a super hybrid genre. Although it appears as a caper genre, the characters’ stories are deep and intricately intertwined. The characters grow and progress within their relationships. Depending on Lee Ro-Woom’s opponent in the scam, there is also a touch of black comedy or thriller. Various genres are mixed together.”

Chun Woo Hee, who plays the unsympathetic con artist Lee Ro-Woom, said, “In order to clear the false accusation of being a persistent killer and seek revenge, she engages in scam activities. Since she transforms into various appearances, there were many transformations externally. I hoped it would be visually interesting and captivating. While the atmosphere of the scam revenge drama requires depth, I also thought about maintaining a balance so that the entertainment value doesn’t decrease.”

Kim Dong Wook, who plays the overly sympathetic lawyer Han Moo-young, said, “Han Moo-young is an excessive empathizer. It’s not something he does for everyone, but only for situations and individuals deserving of it. He is also called the vampire of the legal profession because of his personality displayed in the legal field. He follows Lee Ro-Woom around to prevent her from doing bad things.”

Yoon Park said, “Go Yo-han, a probation officer, is a person who mixes work and daily life. He seems poisonous to the probationers he watches 24 hours a day. He has unique temperament but also shows tsundere-like qualities by communicating, advising, and helping. That’s why he is mysterious. The human touch that comes from there is attractive.”

Park So Jin, who transforms into a psychiatrist named Mo Jae-in, said, “I felt thrilled when I received the script. It felt like I was experiencing it myself. Unlike previous characters, I played a calm and dry role as Mo Jae-in. Since I was the attending physician of Han Moo-young, I had to unravel her inner thoughts and current situation. Mo Jae-in is a character who looks at the character without prejudice.”

Lee Yeon, who successfully transformed as a hacker once again, said, “Jung Da-jeong has been running a comic book store but is a 20-year veteran hacker. Since the age of 9, she has lived as a hacker. Unlike the previous character, Jung Da-jeong is a character who rolls energy inside, rather than emitting it. She has spent a long time at home, and her expressions disappeared, which drew attention.”

Director Lee Soo- Hyun said, “My goal was to make the audience sympathize with and support these characters. If viewers can empathize with why Lee Ro-Woom seeks such intense revenge, they can experience catharsis. I focused on that aspect.” In response, Chun Woo Hee also replied, “Our work is a perfect combination. When each character’s narrative fits together like a puzzle, it becomes perfect.”

tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Delightfully Deceitful” premiered on Monday, May 29th, at 8:50 PM.
