Actor Choi Hyun Wook has been fined for illegally littering cigarette butts.
Recently, a video titled “Apgujeong Rodeo Actor Choi Hyun Wook Sighting” was released on an online community causing a lot of backlash for the actor.
In the video, Choi Hyun Wook is seen smoking on the streets wearing a black tank top, white shorts, and a checkered long-sleeved shirt tied around his waist. Despite it being late at night, Choi Hyun Wook is wearing sunglasses and is engaged in a conversation with two women while smoking. The video shows him discarding the cigarette butts on the floor too. It was confirmed that the area was not a designated smoking area.
The actor has since issued an apology letter and his agency also apologized.
On the 12th of October, Gold Medalist stated, “Choi Hyun Wook has completed the payment of the fine. We are sorry for causing concern.” It was revealed that he was fined for the littering.
Choi Hyun Wook made his debut in 2019 with a web drama and has since gained recognition through dramas such as ‘Racket Boys’ (2021), ‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ (2022), and ‘D.P’ Season 2 (2023). He is currently appearing in the tvN drama ‘Sparkling Watermelon’ and is scheduled to greet viewers through the U+ Mobile TV show ‘Hi Cookie,’ which will be released on the 23rd.
