It’s going to be official!
On September 5, lawyer Bang Jung Hyun, representing Ahn Jae Hyun, released an official long statement clarifying rumors surrounding the actor and his decision to file for divorce from Ku Hye Sun.
In his official statement, he starts by relaying Ahn Jae Hyun’s apology,
“I’m sorry for causing controversy due to our marriage, which is a personal matter.”
The lawyer goes on to explain that he’ll reveal his personal thoughts on the situation after everything is settled and that they’re currently carefully taking a stance.
He says,
“Ahn Jae Hyun is a state where he can’t help but prepare to take legal action, his marriage with Ku Hye Sun is in ruins, there is a limit to proving what’s true through social media.
We concluded that it’s best to file for a divorce lawsuit and have the court make the judgment through legal evidence.”
The lawyer says that Ahn Jae Hyun wishes not to file a criminal complaint against his wife at this stage.
The lawyer goes on to explain that Ku Hye Sun exaggerated the truth and her statements are ‘skewed,’ as a result, Ahn Jae Hyun’s reputation was severely damage and the damage spread into a third party.

There have been ongoing rumors about Ahn Jae Hyun’s relationship to Jung Joon Young. The two were presumed to be friends and netizens took Ku Hye Sun’s side claiming that Ahn Jae Hyun is automatically a bad person because he’s associated with Jung Joon Young, some going as far as to claim he was part of the chatrooms.
The lawyer stepped up to clarify the rumors and shut down false information. He explains that he’s the lawyer who helped a whistleblower report the chatroom controversy; he says that when he took a look at the chatrooms, he found no conversations shared between the two of them,
“I found a conversation with a 3rd party in July 19, 2016, he said, ‘it’s been a year since I’ve seen Jae Hyun Hyung.’”
The lawyer also asks of Ku Hye Sun not to spread false information through SNS and,
“We ask of her to submit to the court the photo of him eating a late-night snack with a woman at a hotel that she mentioned yesterday on social media.”
As his agency previously explained, the photo she’s referring to was taken when he used to date an ex-girlfriend before marrying Ku Hye Sun and it’s not a photo of the actress he’s currently filming his drama with.
He also explains that Ku Hye Sun mentioned that photo previously on tvN’s ‘Newlywed Diary,’ adding,
“We understand that the picture is stored on USB drive.
We would like her to submit the photo to the court to see if it is true. We hope that the authenticity will be revealed by analyzing the photo data records.”
The lawyer finishes the long statement by stating that his client wishes for the truth to be revealed and states that its unfortunate that he can only do so by taking legal action,
“We hope that the public understands that the only option is a divorce lawsuit.
In addition, Ahn Jae Hyun will take stern action against groundless suspicions concerning Jung Joon Young and rumors about a certain actress, so we ask of you to be extra cautious.”

I genuinely can’t tell who did the wrong first but now it seems like a petty battle. She isn’t making it better for herself by trying to settle the matter on social media. Besides I remember her saying that she wanted to “protect her family” but this isn’t the way to go if you want to protect anything. She should really try handling this in a private matter first before announcing it to the world without any set plans. As for him, he seems to be taking better steps on trying to handle this privately by not putting that much out there. Also thank you for the regular updates, you’re doing an amazing job~
