To deliver a diverse range of action scenes, the cast of the drama “A Shop for Killers” revealed their intense training regimen.

On the morning of the 15th of January, the production presentation for the Disney+ original series “A Shop for Killers” was held. Actors Lee Dong Wook, Kim Hye Jun, Seo Hyun Woo, Jo Han Sun, Park Ji Bin, Geum Hae Na, and director Lee Kwon were present.

“A Shop for Killers” is an action drama that depicts the survival journey of Ji An (played by Kim Hye Jun), who becomes the target of dangerous killers due to the dangerous legacy left behind by her uncle Jin Man (played by Lee Dong Wook).

On this day, Lee Dong Wook explained that he brought in action techniques used by foreign special forces, saying, “I’m a former mercenary and I discussed a lot with the martial arts director to bring in the action techniques used by foreign special forces.”

When asked about being called an “action genius,” he denied it, saying, “No, it wasn’t like that. The action I did before had more fantasy elements, with wire stunts, magic, and sword-focused action, while this drama has more gun-focused and indirect combat action.” He added with a laugh, “It was very new and practicing was very tiring.”

Kim Hye Jun, who will showcase Muay Thai action, said, “Training my stamina was the hardest part when I went to the action school on the first day. It was so difficult that I even considered quitting. But afterwards, I let go of that thought and dedicated myself to this work.”

Seo Hyun Woo, who played the role of a sniper, said, “I received professional training and watched a lot of videos. I immersed myself in it as if I were handling a real gun like a pet.” He added with a smile, “Rather than flashy physical action, there are signature moves even when shooting a gun or when there’s an actual impact. I want to thank the other actors for working hard on their action scenes. I played the role of rolling and hiding. I also vomited a lot during action school.”

Jo Han Sun, who showcased dagger action, said, “It was my first time doing dagger action, so I prepared a lot. I was worried about getting hurt while doing action scenes with Dong Wook, but our chemistry was good, and our breathing matched well, so it turned out well.” He expressed his gratitude to Dong Wook for coordinating well.

Playing the role of S-class killer So Min Hye, Geum Hae Na said, “It was like an athlete’s training regimen. When doing grappling action with physical contact with the opponent on the ground, I also vomited a lot,” she laughed. She also revealed the grueling action training process, saying, “Because I became a killer for survival, I had to immediately pick up and use all kinds of weapons. I tried to run away before Hye Jun, but when I realized it was impossible, I relaxed a lot and my body started moving.”

“A Shop for Killers” will be released on Disney+ on the 17th.
