Will BTS And SEVENTEEN Become Labelmates? Big Hit Responds To Acquisition Reports Of PLEDIS Entertainment

Back in early January of 2020, Korean news outlet Sports DongA exclusively reported that Big Hit was in the process of acquiring Pledis Entertainment similarly to what it has done with Source Music (home to GFRIEND) last year.

Back then, Big Hit issued a short statement,

“Nothing has been decided yet.”

The rumors are back again and this time, reports suggest that Big Hit has already finished signing all the contracts related to the acquisition of Pledis Entertainment, the reports stated that the acquisition is imminent and the only thing that remained was the official announcement.

However, Big Hit’s response was vague again. On May 18 they told the press,

“We’re open to new opportunities, but nothing has been decided yet.”
