Is SM newest boy group coming soon?

According to Sports Chosun’s coverage, SM Entertainment’s new rookie boy group is actively preparing for their debut scheduled for September. They are said to be currently in Los Angeles (LA), shooting the music video for their debut song. The SM rookie boy group includes Sungchan and Shotaro, who previously debuted in NCT, as well as Eunseok and Seunghwan, who were introduced through SM Rookies, according to the report.

What’s particularly intriguing is the high level of interest surrounding SM’s new rookie boy group. Launching a new boy group is a rare occurrence for SM, as it has been approximately seven years since their last debut in 2016 with NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream. While WayV debuted in 2019 and a new NCT team debuted this year, all of these groups are part of the NCT brand.

Therefore, SM introducing a new boy group that is not part of NCT after a long time piques the curiosity of not only “Pink Blood” (SM fans’ nickname) but also K-pop fans worldwide. Additionally, there are high expectations from the public.

In response to the report, an SM official said the new boy group is presently finishing up preparations and filming their song video in front of their debut. The precise launch timetable will be released soon.
