NewJeans has once again proven its steep upward growth trajectory by achieving over double its previous first-week sales record!
On the 28th of July, according to a statement from their agency, NewJeans’ second mini-album, ‘Get Up,’ recorded an impressive 1,651,181 copies in first-week sales, based on the latest Hanteo Chart announcement.
This achievement places them as the second-highest K-pop female artist in terms of first-week sales, standing alongside esteemed groups such as aespa (3rd mini-album MY World, 1,690,000 copies), BLACKPINK (2nd full album BORN PINK, 1,540,000 copies), and LE SÉRAFIM (1st full album UNFORGIVEN, 1,250,000 copies).
Especially notable is the fact that they surpassed their previous records, including their debut mini-album ‘New Jeans’ (310,000 copies) and their first single ‘OMG’ (700,000 copies) within their first year. Their current release achieved more than double the sales on the release day, attracting attention for their remarkable growth.
This remarkable feat showcases their rising global influence and hints at the potential for them to reach the milestone of surpassing 2 million copies with a single album.
In addition to their successful second mini-album ‘Get Up,’ which features triple title tracks, ‘Super Shy,’ ‘ETA,’ and ‘Cool With You,’ NewJeans is set to take the stage at the prestigious music festival ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ on August 3rd.
