Amidst the rise of online posts threatening the safety of Starship Entertainment’s artist, IVE’s Wonyoung, the agency announced strong countermeasures.
On the 9th of May, Starship Entertainment officially announced “Guidelines Regarding the Safety of Our Artists” through their official social media platforms.
Starship stated, “Yesterday, a post threatening the safety of our artist, Jang Won Young of IVE, was posted on a community site. The post, which indicated the date and time of the crime, has been reported to the police, and the police have already started investigating the author of the post.”
The agency, which requested prompt investigation and protection of their artist’s safety, stated that they will take legal actions as soon as the suspect’s identity is revealed.
Furthermore, the agency mentioned that they have reinforced professional security personnel for the protection of their artist, and are reevaluating the security of the artist’s movements, company building, and accommodation. They also emphasized that they will strengthen monitoring against any threats to their artist’s safety, and will respond with strong legal measures once detected.
Meanwhile, Wonyoung and IVE released the second mini album ‘IVE Switch’ on the 29th of last month and is currently promoting the title track.
