Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin will portray married couples for an upcoming drama!
Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin have been confirmed as the leads for MBC’s upcoming weekend drama “The Phone of the Present God” (planned by Kwon Sung-chang, directed by Park Sang-woo, written by Kim Ji-woon, produced by Bon Factory, Baram Pictures).
“The Phone of the Present God” is a 12-episode drama that tells the story of a couple who have been married through a strategic marriage for three years and live without talking to each other. Their lives are turned upside down when they receive a threatening phone call from a kidnapper, leading to a passionate and sticky romance. The drama is based on a popular web novel.
In the drama, Yoo Yeon Seok will play Baek Sa-eon, the son of a prestigious politician and the youngest spokesperson for the presidential office. Sa-eon is a political elite who receives attention for his past as a war journalist in a civil war zone, a hostage negotiation expert, and a prominent anchor for a public broadcasting company. However, his life takes a turn when he receives a phone call saying that his wife, Hong Hee-joo, has been kidnapped, disrupting their peaceful life together.
Chae Soo Bin, on the other hand, plays Hong Hee-joo, the daughter of a media tycoon who enters into a strategic marriage with Baek Sa-eon. Hee-joo is a talented sign language interpreter who suffers from selective mutism due to an accident in her childhood. Despite her condition, she works as an interpreter in courts and broadcasting companies, and one day, her life takes a turn when she is kidnapped by a criminal. She then undergoes a transformation to change her show window lifestyle.
The script for “The Phone of the Present God” is written by Kim Ji-woon, who has received love from viewers with captivating developments in works such as “Melancholia” and “Doctor John.”
Meanwhile, “The Phone of the Present God,” a sizzling and sticky phone romance starring Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin, has been confirmed to air on MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama lineup and will begin full-scale production.
