MAMAMOO Hwasa Wears No Bra To The Airport, Netizens Mixed Reactions

Published Categorized as Kpop

MAMAMOO Hwasa is under fire again by some netizens for not wearing a bra.

On July 7, MAMAMOO Hwasa and the rest of her group returned to Korean from an event in Hong Kong. Fans and reporters were outside waiting for the girls. Hwasa’s outfit choice sparked huge interest.

Hwasa wore a short-sleeved white T-shirt and people noticed that she didn’t wear a bra which is considered rather taboo in Korean society. Female idols who wear no bra usually get criticized and shamed publicly.

She is one of the few female celebrities who dare come out without a bra. Sulli also regularly uploads photos to her Instagram wearing no bra. She had previously explained that she thinks bras are accessories and some outfits just don’t go well with bras.

Some netizens heavily criticized Hwasa’s outfit, some called her ‘cheap,’ ‘embarrassing,’ ‘disrespectful’ to those around her, and some women also commented on how much they hated such things and could never imagine not wearing a bra, others also said she just doesn’t look good regardless of what she wears.

There are some who instead of bashing said that she should’ve worn nipple patches and a black shirt instead.

There are also netizens who encouraged her to do what she likes; they asked those who left awful comments to ‘leave her alone,’ ‘this is not a crime,’ and others.

The international community took her side and defended her from bad comments; they asked netizens who were uncomfortable to mind their own business.

My name is Kevin Miller and I am responsible for writing Kpop content on I have been a fan of Kpop since 2014 and I am a multi-stan

  1. Hwasa got shamed for wearing a bra to the airport which many wear as tops but when she comes back not wearing a bra people get mad … like seriously just let her do her

  2. like hey, bras are really just there for support anyway. if anything, to minimise public discomfort, nipple patches? i mean, nipples really attract the eyes lol

  3. What if it was uncomfortable. I’m not a girl so I don’t how it feels, but she might’ve felt uncomfortable or probably was in a rush and had no time. Plus sometimes you can see through a shirt, it she wore a bra that was not the same color as her shirt you would see her bra, and that is more embarrassing than wearing no bra. Sometimes you don’t even know if someones wearing a bra or not

  4. I just like hwasa unnie i didn’t wear bra because it so uncomfortable anyone knows it in america its okey to not wear bra because it can cause cancer that is why some girls didn’t wear bra

  5. You do you Hwasa. Opinions, good or bad are just what other people think and it doesn’t matter what they think (unless it’s a good opinion.) Being comfortable is so important though, mentally comfortable AND physically comfortable and I’m sure that how Hwasa was feeling. She’s amazing LOVE YOU HWASA GURL POWERRRRR

  6. I laugh whenever the Korean citizens attempt to give an image to the rest of the world that they’re pure, virtuous and family friendly. No, Koreans are no better than any other Asian country. They have the 18-plus girl groups, they have the pornography – stop hiding the fact that this country is just like any other.

    1. I defend her right not to or to wear a bra. She isn’t burning any countries to the ground with her decision. Honestly, if I didn’t need to wear a bra, I wouldn’t. They can be uncomfortable and hurt…cuttimg into your shoulders and rib area. Sometimes, you just want to relax your chest and this may or may not have been the case for her. I Liv for tue day women can go out I public like men without a shirt…think about how freeing that is.

South Koreans, would do well to move into the 21st Century and stop with all these gender narratives that no longer fit women. Women who talk against each other only defeat the struggles many endured for change and equality. What she is doing is not just liberating to he own body but liberating and empowering to an entire generation of women world wide.

Be free Hwasa! Do you! Fxxk what the delusional say! Middle finger to those that don’t respect your free.
