It has been reported that the group Kep1er has taken steps towards the first contract extension for their project group.
According to Sports News on the 22nd of September, it has been confirmed that Wake One recently had a meeting with the key management of the agencies representing Kep1er members to discuss extending their project activities.
A representative from one of the agencies stated, “The members of Kep1er met with their previous agencies to discuss future activities. Since most agencies agree with the extension, it is expected that there will be further discussions on extending the remaining period.”
In response to this, Wake One stated to Sports News, “It is true that we had a meeting with all the agencies to propose the same offer in order to establish a long-term activity roadmap and strategy for the Kep1er project,” and “However, despite our best efforts to reach an agreement among all the agencies, it was not possible this time. Since there is still time left in their activities, we will continue to consult with each other.” They expressed a cautious attitude.
As positive signals regarding the contract extension were confirmed during the meeting between the agencies, if Kep1er confirms this in the future, it is expected to be the first case where all members of a project group formed through an audition program renew their contracts.
Kep1er is a girl group formed through the Mnet audition program “Girls Planet 999” which documented the process of girls from Korea, Japan, and China challenging to become a K-pop girl group. They officially debuted on January 3, 2022, and have been actively promoting in Korea and Japan. They are scheduled to release their fifth mini-album, “Magic Hour,” on the 25th and continue their activities.
