Amidst the dating rumors between singers HyunA and Yong Junhyung, both agencies have issued a response addressing the situation!
On the 19th of January, HyunA’s agency stated, “We are not involved in the artist’s very personal matters.” Blackmade, Yong Junhyung’s agency, also stated, “It is difficult to confirm as it is the artist’s private life.”
Earlier, on the 18th, HyunA posted a photo on her SNS with a male, along with a heart emoji, implying a romantic relationship. In the photo, the couple is seen holding hands and walking on a sandy beach, and HyunA tagged Yong Junhyung’s account on the man’s back.
After HyunA’s suggestive post, Yong Junhyung also posted the same photo on his SNS on the same day, adding fuel to the dating rumors. Some speculate that the two may have posted the photo as a marketing strategy for their collaboration.
However, since both agencies have taken the stance of “difficult to be involved in their private lives,” it does not seem that they met for collaboration.
During this time, speculation also arose that HyunA and Yong Junhyung’s relationship may have started since November of last year when they left their signatures together at a donkatsu restaurant.
HyunA and Yong Junhyung had a senior-junior relationship when they were both under Cube Entertainment, and Yong Junhyung even featured in HyunA’s solo debut song “Change.” Furthermore, HyunA publicly dated former labelmate E’Dawn from 2018 to 2022 before breaking up. If the dating rumors are true, HyunA’s public relationship with E’Dawn ended in November 2022, just over a year ago.
Yong Junhyung also had a public relationship in the past. In 2011, he revealed that he was dating the late Kara member Goo Hara, but they announced their breakup in March 2013, stating that they decided to remain close colleagues.
Fans reacted with a cold response, saying, “It’s not surprising” and “It will be difficult to support them wholeheartedly.” This is partly because Yong Junhyung was involved in the “Jung Joon Young group chat” incident.
Yong Junhyung admitted in March 2019 that he had seen the illegal video shared by singer Jung Joon Young at the end of 2015. After the admission, he withdrew from his group. Jung Joon Young is currently serving a prison sentence for charges including group sexual assault and illegal filming. Yong Junhyung also halted his activities as a singer and made a comeback in November 2022 through his independent label, “Blackmade.”
