A person known as A, who worked as a performance director at HYBE, has been fired by the company on charges of fraud and embezzlement.

On the 20th of November, HYBE stated, “We conducted an objective investigation with the help of an external law firm as soon as we became aware of the misconduct and damage caused by the individual’s misconduct, and we took disciplinary measures and fired the individual through a process of excluding them from their duties and the personnel committee.”

HYBE has also filed a criminal complaint regarding the damages caused by A, and they are currently undergoing legal procedures. HYBE stated, “We will hold the responsible individual fully accountable without tolerance for misconduct.”

HYBE strictly prohibits any actions that involve personal gain or illegal and unfair activities using internal information, job positions, etc. They also explained that they operate a separate reporting center to prevent such actions and take swift measures.

Previously, one media outlet reported on the same day that A received rebates from a HYBE contract company. It was also reported that A used the HYBE’s name, received money under the pretext of investing in goods or songs, and did not return the funds. The embezzled amount is reported to be over 5 billion won [$3.8 million].
