K-pop rookie girl group “Fifty Fifty” under the management of ATTRAKT Entertainment has spoken out against external forces attempting to lure their members into violating their exclusive contracts.

ATTRAKT Entertainment released a statement on the 23rd of June, they wrote, “External forces are engaging in illegal activities by enticing our artists to disregard valid exclusive contracts and enter into contracts with them through criticism of our company and embellishment of false rumors.” They expressed concerns that such actions by external forces could significantly damage the image and future potential of the artists who have only debuted seven months ago. They also mentioned that it could have a serious negative impact on the entire K-pop industry.

Fifty Fifty consists of four members, all of whom are Korean: Keena (20, main rapper), Saena (19, lead dancer and main vocalist), Sio (18, main vocalist), and Aran (18, lead vocalist). They are known as the “miracle of small and medium-sized agencies” in the industry. Their debut EP, “The Fifty,” released on November 18th last year, entered the “Hot 100” chart at number 100 on April 1st, just four months after their debut. They became the fastest K-pop group to enter the chart after their debut.

Attrakt Entertainment is a newly established planning agency founded in 2021. The individuals who produced and managed Fifty Fifty are well-known figures in the industry.

Attrakt Entertainment stated, “Although we started as a small company, we have written a new history of K-pop despite difficult financial circumstances.” They expressed their anger at the illegal actions of external forces attempting to take away this great achievement made by a small and powerless planning agency. They vowed to respond to these external forces in a calm and firm manner and pursue legal accountability without any compromise.

They also explained the reason behind Fifty Fifty’s lack of activities despite gaining popularity. They revealed that member Aran underwent surgery on May 2nd and is currently in a recovery period. They stated that based on the doctor’s diagnosis, which indicated a recovery period of at least one month, possibly up to two months, they decided to suspend the artists’ activities and provide them with rest, considering their health as the top priority. However, they did not disclose the specific medical condition of Aran.

During this period, Attrakt Entertainment stated that they have significantly expanded and improved their existing systems to provide more dedicated support to the artists. They emphasized that pursuing the long-term growth and development of the artists, rather than immediate short-term benefits, is their fundamental policy.

Despite not actively promoting, Fifty Fifty continues to achieve remarkable records on English-speaking charts. Their song “Cupid” has entered the 24th position on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking their 13th consecutive week on the chart. This is currently the longest entry by a K-pop girl group on the chart.

They have also achieved consistent success on the latest UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 (16th-22nd), ranking 16th and spending 12 consecutive weeks on the chart.

Additionally, they are participating in the OST for the highly anticipated Hollywood film “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, which is set to be released this summer. The OST album titled “Barbie the Album” features the Grammy-winning British pop star Dua Lipa, among others.
