PLEDIS has explained the controversy over the high-priced album of SEVENTEEN.
On the 7th of May, their agency, PLEDIS, posted a message on the fan platform Weverse relating to the album “SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE (Deluxe Ver.)” pricing which received immense backlash for being too high.
Earlier, SEVENTEEN unveiled the deluxe version and immediately received attention for the shocking pricing. This album is composed of a photobook, archival book, lyrics book, CD, poster, sticker pack, keyring, and photocards. However, it caused controversy due to its original price of 204,900 won [nearly $151] and discounted price of 178,000 won as mentioned in a DM.
Read their statement:
After PLEDIS’ correction of the album price, the deluxe version of ’17 Is Light Here’ is now sold at 83,400 won [$61], discounted by 17% to 69,500 won.
