Boy group CRAVITY member Seongmin is temporarily suspending activities.
CRAVITY’s agency, Starship Entertainment, announced on October 11th through their official channels that Seongmin will be temporarily suspending his activities with CRAVITY to stay by his mother’s side as she undergoes surgery.
The following is the official statement from Starship Entertainment regarding Seongmin’s temporary suspension of activities with CRAVITY.
CRAVITY Seongmin’s temporary activity suspension announcement:
Hello. This is Starship Entertainment.
First, we would like to ask for your understanding regarding the sudden news we are about to deliver, and we would like to inform you about the temporary suspension of CRAVITY member Seongmin’s activities.
Seongmin’s mother is currently ill and is about to undergo a major surgery.
After sufficient discussions with the members of CRAVITY and Seongmin himself, we have determined that allowing Seongmin to stay by his mother’s side for the time being is the best decision for Seongmin and his mother.
Following this announcement, activities will continue with the remaining 8 members, and we will provide separate updates regarding any changes in the future.
We ask for the support, encouragement, and understanding of LUVITY for Seongmin’s mother’s recovery. Thank you.
Meanwhile, Seongmin debuted as a member of CRAVITY in 2020. In September, they released their 6th mini album ‘SUN SEEKER’ and actively promoted it.
With this album, they achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing their previous album’s first-week sales in just two days. They also topped the ‘Album Chart’ for the 37th week on the Circle Chart (September 10-16, 2023), and sold over 300,000 copies.
Their title track ‘Ready or Not’ also reached the top spot on the US Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart.
